VARNOL
is
a traditional Norwegian Varnishing Oil. Half varnish,
half
oil. The best of both worlds - a beautiful oiled-wood
finish, or a
hard-wearing high gloss - both from the same container!
It is designed
to be
easy to use, and easy to maintain, without too many
rules and regs…
Whether you are trying to beautify and protect the
bright work on your
pride and joy, restoring antique furniture, or simply
want to perk up
and re-finish some old floorboards, let versatile VARNOL
give you a
hand! The VARNOL formula, based on refined pine resins and gum turpentine (also called genuine or ‘raw’ turpentine), is designed to penetrate into the timber, not simply to sit prettily on the surface. The Norwegian makers of VARNOL have over 50 years of experience of specialist finishes for their harsh climate. These finishes must not only be easy to apply, but they must also be quick and straight-forward to maintain. VARNOL is the product of all this experience. VARNOL is supplied in screw-top containers which ensures a long storage life, less wastage - and, best of all, an end to battles with screwdrivers and flimsy tin lids. VARNOL is based on refined pine resins and gum turpentine. Being an air-drying oil with no added chemical driers, it retains its flexibility once dry. The wonderful aroma says it all, but don’t be tempted to drink it… Despite the fact that VARNOL must be used in a well-ventilated place, users do rave about its aromatic scents of pine resin and gum turpentine! Whether you love it or otherwise, the scent (sadly, for many) does not stay around for long, even when large areas of interior flooring or kitchen units have been treated with VARNOL. Of course, if you are working on your yacht outside, the occasional whiff on the sea air simply adds to the overall enjoyment of VARNOL, and reassures you that you are using The Right Stuff! Varnol is a natural product, contains no chemicals and no UV protection. If used outside it should last a season but if you see deterioration in the finish, apply a few extra coats. Varnol performs best as a matt/silk finish on exterior woods. |
